Visit of Uzbekistan Foreign Minister led delegation to Luxembourg

On October 20-21, 2025, a delegation of headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov visited the city of Luxembourg.
The delegation took part in the Ministerial Meeting on Interregional Security and Connectivity. The event discussed the issues of global and regional security, the development of sustainable transport and logistics corridors, as well as cooperation in the fields of innovative solutions and advanced technologies. Uzbekistan reaffirmed its commitment to deepening practical partnership in these areas and strengthening interregional connectivity. It was emphasized that cooperation should not only focus on infrastructure development but also aim to enhance mutual trust, promote innovative initiatives and improve the well-being of peoples.
Within the framework of the visit, the 18th meeting of the "Uzbekistan - European Union" Cooperation Council was successfully held. During the event, the parties discussed issues of developing political dialogue, expanding trade and investment ties, ensuring sustainable development, and strengthening regional connectivity.
In addition, a number of bilateral meetings were held.
During the meeting with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaya Kallas, issues of sustainable development, building new bridges between Central Asia and Europe, and strengthening cooperation were discussed.
At the meeting with the Commissioner for International Cooperation of the European Commission, Josef Sikela, it was noted that the results of the first "Central Asia - European Union" summit held in Samarkand have brought Uzbekistan - European Union cooperation to a new level. The parties discussed issues of expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and innovation, continuing mutual dialogue, and strengthening strategic partnership.
Talks with Baiba Braže, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, focused on enhancing political dialogue and expanding cooperation in trade, economy, transport, education, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
During the meeting with Constantinos Kombos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, the sides discussed the expansion of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on pressing international issues. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing constructive cooperation aimed at promoting regional peace and stability.
At the meeting with Marta Kos, European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, the parties discussed ways to deepen regional cooperation, advance new joint initiatives, and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reaffirmed its commitment to further expanding mutually beneficial relations with the European Union and its member states in the political, economic, and humanitarian spheres, and to continuing effective cooperation in ensuring regional security and sustainable development.
During the talks with Nadia Calviño, President of the European Investment Bank, the parties discussed projects aimed at supporting Uzbekistan’s sustainable economic growth, accelerating the green transition, and modernizing infrastructure. The Bank was recognized as an important partner in building a sustainable and innovative region for Uzbekistan.
A meeting was also held with Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Trade, and Cooperation of Luxembourg. The sides discussed deepening bilateral partnership and developing mutually beneficial cooperation. At the conclusion of the talks, sincere gratitude was expressed to the Luxembourg side for its warm hospitality.
