Visit of the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan to the People's Republic of China.
On July 14-15, 2025, a delegation of Uzbekistan led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov paid a visit to the People’s Republic of China. During the visit, the delegation participated in the meeting of the SCO Foreign Ministers’ Council meeting in Tianjin and held a series of high-level meetings.
In particular, the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, together with colleagues, was received by President of China Xi Jinping. Warmest greetings and best wishes of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev were conveyed. The parties discussed ways to deepen cooperation in trade, economic, transport, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening collaboration within the SCO to ensure regional stability and prosperity.
In Tianjin the Uzbekistan delegation took part in the SCO Foreign Ministers’ Council meeting. In his statement, the head of delegation of Uzbekistan underscored the importance of the SCO 2035 Development Strategy and the Tianjin Declaration, and expressed Uzbekistan’s readiness to actively contribute to the implementation of practical initiatives in trade, transport, and security.
During the visit, negotiations were held with Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China. The sides discussed the further strengthening of the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership, the expansion of mutually beneficial economic ties, the development of regional connectivity, and the promotion of common goals through multilateral formats.
The Head of MFA also met with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The parties highlighted the rich historical heritage linking the two countries and discussed steps to further enhance trade and economic interaction, cultural ties, and diplomatic cooperation to promote regional peace, stability, and sustainable development.
Additionally, the delegation held meetings with the leadership of major Chinese companies, including Chison Medical Technologies, China Resources Pharmaceutical Group, Norinco, Hangzhou Miuge Chemical Commodities Science and Technologies, Xiamen Tungsten, Shandong Gold, Contemporary Amperex Technology, Great Wall Motor, Origin Quantum, and China Aerospace Science and Technology. The discussions focused on prospects for joint projects in Uzbekistan, attracting advanced production capacities and technologies, training specialists, and deeper integration into regional and global supply chains. The delegation highly appreciated the sincere interest of Chinese businesses in entering the rapidly growing Central Asian market and their readiness to build mutually beneficial partnerships.
