On January 29, 2022, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, the foreign ministers of the two countries exchanged congratulatory messages.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov notes that Uzbekistan values close and trusting relations with the Republic of Korea, which is regarded as a reliable friend and time-tested partner.

“A close political dialogue has been established at the highest level, between parliaments, governments, ministries of foreign affairs... Our countries closely cooperate within the framework of international organizations, have similar approaches to regional and global issues”, Uzbekistan FM said.

In turn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Chung Eui-yong, emphasized that relations between the two countries are developing dynamically in the political, economic, cultural and many other spheres in the spirit of a special strategic partnership.

The legal basis of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Korea consists of 197 documents.

11 meetings of the Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation and 14 inter-MFA consultations were held.
