Uzbekistan and the United States Strengthen Cooperation on Countering Illegal Migration
On June 2, 2026, the regular meeting of the Uzbekistan–United States Bilateral Working Group on Countering Illegal Migration was held.
The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullaev and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Uzbekistan, Jonathan Henick.
During the discussions, the parties reviewed the current state and prospects of cooperation in combating illegal migration, issues related to labor migration, as well as the simplification of visa procedures.
The parties highly appreciated the effective dialogue and practical cooperation established within the framework of the Working Group, emphasizing its important role in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants exchanged views on the results of their joint activities and outlined future steps aimed at deepening cooperation in this area and expanding coordination at the international level.
