Uzbek-Omani Political Consultations Held

 

On September 5, a regular round of political consultations took place in Tashkent between the Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Sultanate of Oman.

The delegations were led by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhromjon Aloyev and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali al-Harithi.

During the talks, the current state and prospects for the development of Uzbek-Omani relations were thoroughly discussed. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening political dialogue and inter-parliamentary ties, expanding the contractual and legal framework of cooperation, and deepening interaction within international organizations.

Particular attention was paid to the intensification of economic diplomacy. An agreement was reached on elaborating joint measures aimed at increasing and diversifying bilateral trade, as well as implementing joint investment projects.

The sides also exchanged views on enhancing cultural and humanitarian ties, fostering partnerships in the fields of education, scientific research, and tourism. Certain aspects of the international and regional agenda were likewise considered.

Following the consultations, a Joint Plan of Action on strengthening bilateral cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman was signed.
