On the visit of the Uzbekistan delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Kingdom of Jordan
On February 1-3, a delegation of Uzbekistan led by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
At the reception of King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan, warm greetings and a letter from President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev were conveyed. It was noted that our two countries enjoy a long-standing strong friendship and are in favour of deepening cooperation in all spheres. The foreign ministries of both countries have been working tirelessly to develop intensive and effective cooperation for the prosperity of our countries, displaying dedication and mutual trust.
During the visit, a number of meetings were held with the country's officials and senior company executives. At a meeting with Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, special attention was paid to the great potential to jointly realize and giving new dynamics to our bilateral relations.
In order to further facilitate the partnership between the countries, two important documents were signed by Foreign Ministers:
- Intergovernmental Agreement on visa-free travel for diplomatic passport holders;
- Joint Cooperation Program between Foreign Ministries 2025-2027.
Prospects for closer cooperation in different fields were also discussed during productive meetings with Minister of Investment Musanna Gharaiba, Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Shrines Muhammad Ahmed Msallam Al-Halayla, Minister of Higher Education Azmi Mahafza, as well as with the heads of Jordan’s leading universities and companies.
