On the Meeting of the Foreign Minister with the OSCE Secretary General

On May 21, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Feridun Sinirlioğlu, the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the role and significance of the OSCE in the current complex international environment, as well as on its contribution to strengthening open dialogue and mutual trust.
Particular attention was given to Uzbekistan’s initiatives in the areas of gender equality, youth policy, cybersecurity, green development, environmental sustainability, and regional cooperation. The importance of further expanding practical partnership with the OSCE was emphasized.
An important part of the meeting focused on the emergence of a new atmosphere in Central Asia based on good-neighborliness and mutual trust.
The parties also reviewed pressing issues on the global and regional agenda. It was underscored that all conflicts and disputes should be resolved exclusively through diplomacy, dialogue, and in accordance with international law.
