Meeting with representatives of VFS Global
A working meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Ms. Shweta Mishra, Regional Director of VFS Global for the CIS and Eastern Europe, and Mr. Timur Tuychiev, Head of the VFS Global office in Uzbekistan.
The parties discussed prospects for gradually expanding the VFS Global office network across various regions of Uzbekistan. An agreement was reached to introduce a mechanism for mobile visa services, whereby company representatives will conduct on-site visits upon request from organized groups. This paid service is designed to provide greater accessibility to visa support, particularly for applicants in remote areas who may face difficulties traveling to the VFS centers in Tashkent or Samarkand.
Special attention was given to facilitating visa procedures for Uzbek citizens applying to countries without accredited diplomatic missions in Uzbekistan, such as Canada, Argentina, Australia, and others. In such cases, visa processing often involves additional time and financial burdens due to the need to apply abroad.
In this context, the Uzbek side expressed interest in localizing part of the visa processing procedures within Uzbekistan — particularly the collection of biometric data and the conduct of remote interviews via VFS Global offices.
Both parties confirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation, launching joint initiatives, and improving the overall quality and accessibility of visa services for Uzbek citizens.
