On January 26, 2024, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Uzbekistan Nico Schemers.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for relations between Uzbekistan and the Netherlands in the Afghan direction.

The Ambassador underscored the significant role of Uzbekistan in establishing long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan, Tashkent's efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people and restore this country's national economy.

The sides exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan, as well as the implementation of various infrastructure projects in the country.
