On February 28, 2024, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General, head of the regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia Kaha Imnadze.

During the conversation, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN, in particular in the field of strengthening regional security, including the current situation in Afghanistan.

Kaha Imnadze highly appreciated the efforts of Uzbekistan to develop a consolidated regional position on Afghanistan, establish long-term peace and stability in the country, as well as provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.
